Emergency & Exit Lighting
The National Fire Protection Association’s Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) requires the installation and maintenance of emergency lighting under section 5-8 “Illumination of Means of Egress” and the installation of exit signs under section 5-10 “Marking of Means of Egress” OSHA also requires emergency lighting under Section 1910.36 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
The Life Safety Code requires monthly testing of all emergency lighting. Annual inspection and testing is required by NFPA 70 and the National Electric Code. Both Codes require written test records be kept for inspection by the Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Monthly Inspection
- Press test button momentarily to test integrity of the battery and light
- Check each light for physical damage
- Check alignment of beams and adjust if necessary
- Check AC and charge lamps if applicable
Annual Inspection
- 90 minute full functional test
- Disconnect AC power supply to each unit if necessary
- Check battery and lens for corrosion
- Clean unit and lens
- Adjust beam for proper alignment
- Check charging system voltage
- Check battery voltage output
Annual maintenance in accordance with NFPA 101, NFPA 70, and OSHA 1910.36

SCBA Sales
A self contained breathing apparatus, or SCBA, is often used by emergency personnel like firemen, or rescue personnel who need to have breatheable air. Generally, SCBA has three different parts, including a regulator, an inhalation connector, and a high pressure tank, which are all connected to a frame.

Gas Meter Repair
Gas meters are pieces of equipment designed to protect people from unseen hazards that may exist in workplace environments. It is very important to worker safety that these parts are maintained and calibrated properly.
Gas meter (monitor) inaccuracy due to improper irregular calibration can lead to serious accidents. Exposure to excessive levels of toxic gas or an where there is a lack of oxygen can cause workers illness and in the worst case scenario, death.
Uses of Gas Meter Repair
The only way to guarantee that a Gas meter (monitor) will detect gas accurately and reliably is to test (calibrate) it with a known concentration of calibration gas.
